Blockchain.com has achieved a significant milestone by securing regulatory approval from the UK's Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), ending a nearly four-year wait. The FCA added the company to its registry of licensed crypto firms, allowing it to offer services in compliance with anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing regulations.

The approval enables Blockchain.com to expand its brokerage, custodial, and institutional-grade crypto services across the UK. While the current licensing regime restricts full financial services authorization, the company plans to apply for broader permissions once the UK's new regulatory framework takes effect in 2027.

This development strengthens Blockchain.com's position to collaborate with UK banks and regulated financial institutions. The company had initially withdrawn its FCA application in 2022, making this approval a hard-won victory in one of the world's most stringent regulatory environments.
